CHINA. The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to announce the launch later this week of Hainan Curated, a regular enewsletter that will link to all our regular web coverage of the island’s booming offshore duty free sector, in association with Swedish beauty-tech and wellness company Foreo and its brands Foreo and FAQ.
The newsletter, part of The Moodie Davitt Report’s highly successful Curated series, will allow readers a one-stop shop collation of stories dedicated to the almost breathless pace of development in Hainan province.
Besides linking back to all original stories on The Moodie Report.com, Hainan Curated will feature articles on Hainan’s travel & tourism sectors; events such as the 2021 China International Consumer Products Expo run by Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development (Hainan IEDB) and the TFWA Asia Pacific Hainan Special Edition; and the exciting development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong said: “Hainan province has managed to kick-start its tourism sector back into business while the rest of the world faces strict bans on international travel. This has made Hainan the main focus for many brands including luxury retailers, propelling Hainan towards becoming a strategic priority for every business to kick off Q1. Sales are on fire in the region, as the only tourist destination that is seeing any sales growth in the midst of the pandemic.
“With Hainan being declared a Free Trade Port in June 2020, the province is set to become a powerful financial and economic center, with extremely innovative and economic potential to be tapped into. Foreo foresees that Hainan will become the most attractive region for international investors in the next ten years. Because of this, we have had our placements firmly positioned in Hainan since 2015.
“In the effort to make our presence felt even stronger, both Foreo and FAQ brands are set to open 29 new offline counters in Hainan this year, 13 for Foreo and 16 for FAQ, respectively. As a leading industry player, we recognise the significance that Hainan plays, and hence why our Global Travel Retail team is strategically based in Shanghai. This makes it easier to stay on top of any further developments in China travel retail as a key focus channel.”
The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “We are delighted to partner with Foreo in giving justified focus to the extraordinary ‘story within a story’ that Hainan’s offshore sector has become in the global travel retail channel. Allied to our regular daily web coverage of Hainan and wider China travel retail, our launch of the Moodie Davitt WeChat Official Account in coming days, and the recent opening of our Moodie Davitt Asia headquarters in Hong Kong, China, Hainan Curated underlines our belief in and commitment to China’s travel retail community.”
Note: Look out for an extensive interview with Gary Leong in coming days both online and in a special Hainan-focused edition of The Moodie Davitt Magazine.
