GERMANY. The Nuance Group has expanded its retail portfolio at Düsseldorf Airport by opening a stand-alone boutique for upscale German fashion brand René Lezard.
Located in Terminal A, the 100sq m store carries men’s and women’s clothing as well as accessories such as socks, belts and small leathergoods.
René Lezard is an exclusive fashion brand for women and men. The company uses the best Italian fabrics in selected production centres to follow its motto ‘Quality above everything else’. The brand’s core values are described as timeless modernity.
Commenting on the choice of brand, The Nuance Group Europe Sales & Operations Director Stephan Salvisberg said: “Düsseldorf is one of Europe’s prime fashion locations, and we want to reflect this fact through our offer. Nuance is always keen to create a new and exciting shopping offer unique for each airport.
“René Lezard is a premium fashion brand made in Germany and very popular with customers, particularly in its home market. It is also a brand that so far is not to be found at just any airport. We are proud to present this premium brand at Düsseldorf Airport.”
This is the second René Lezard store in Nuance’s portfolio to open its doors after the boutique at Hamburg Airport.

René Lezard Fashion GmbH Managing Director Heinz Hackl explained: “Following the successful introduction of our brand at Hamburg and Munich airports, the Düsseldorf Airport shop is another step towards expanding our presence in airport retailing.”
In Germany, Nuance operates a total of 10 fashion outlets at Hamburg, Cologne-Bonn and Düsseldorf Airports, employing 60 staff. The other outlet operated by Nuance at Düsseldorf Airport is a Cult multi-brand fashion concept located in Terminal C, which began trading in June 2009.
Düsseldorf Airport is the third largest airport in Germany and handles more than 18.1 million passengers per year. Most flights connect Düsseldorf with German and European destinations, but 2008 saw a rise in long-haul traffic of about +16.7%. The passenger volume to the US was particularly outstanding in 2008, said Nuance.
