The Shilla Duty Free strikes the right chord with debut BTS store

SOUTH KOREA. The Shilla Duty Free has opened the first permanent BTS goods store in travel retail, honouring the hugely popular Korean boy band.

The boutique, named Space of BTS, was launched within the retailer’s Jangchung-dong, Seoul store on 8 June. BTS has previously only been represented in travel retail through pop-up stores.

Space of BTS features 330 types of goods ranging from apparel to bags and stationery. Among them are fashion items under the theme of Basic consisting of man-to-man T shirts, regular T-shirts, and cardigans as well as products launched under the themes of DNA, Boy with Luv and On – BTS’ mega-hit songs.

Stationery including pens and stickers and general merchandise such as sleepers, desktop mirrors and mug cups are also available, with more items to be added.

In celebration of the opening, The Shilla Duty Free is giving away 3,000 ON Bandanas to those making a purchase. Customers receive one of three types of ON Bandana on a first-come-first-served basis.

“We are happy to be the first duty free retailer to open a regular official BTS goods store,” said a spokesperson from The Shilla Duty Free. “We expect it to attract a tremendous amount of interest from BTS fans all over the world when international borders fully reopen.”
