Popularly known as The Trinity Forum, the event is the world’s leading airport commercial revenues conference. It is being hosted by CAM – Macau International Airport Company Limited.

This year’s event is themed: “˜Countering the crisis through collaboration, creativity and consumer focus’. As always it will emphasise the traditional “˜Trinity’ principles of greater partnership and understanding between industry stakeholders.

The Trinity Forum 2009 is being hosted by CAM – Macau International Airport Company Limited. The Gala Dinner is being co-hosted by CAM and its duty free retailer King Power Group (Hong Kong).

GMR Airports this week signed as the event’s first Platinum sponsor. GMR is the lead shareholder in the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) consortium that is currently tendering the biggest commercial opportunity in Indian airport history – the concessions for the new Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

GMR Airports Chief of Commercial & Airport Strategic Development Suredj Autar will be delivering a major presentation on the group’s commercial revenues strategy and philosophy.

Confirmed speakers to date include:

– Christian Strang, Senior Vice President of Business Development, DFS Group
– Phil Humphreys, Managing Director Global Travel & Middle East, Diageo
– Suredj Autar, Chief of Commercial & Airport Strategic Development, GMR Airports
– Dan Cappell, Vice President of Commercial Revenues, Abu Dhabi Airports Company
– Derek Larsen, General Manager Retail, Sydney Airport Corporation Limited
– Peter Eriksson, Chief Commercial Officer and Member of the Executive Committee, Zurich Airport
– Nigel Dolby, Dolby Consulting
– Peter Rebeiz, Chairman, Caviar House

– Robbie Gill, Managing Director, The Design Solution
– Angela Gittens, Director-General, Airports Council International
– Martin Moodie, Founder & Publisher, The Moodie Report

Two major additions to the programme will be notified shortly.

ACI Director General Angela Gittens said: “The Trinity Forum is a unique platform to bring together the global family of airports, retailers and suppliers. They examine airport revenue growth potential and share ideas on improved airport revenue diversification, increased consumer penetration and better coordination amongst the key retail stakeholders.

“More than ever, in today’s fast-changing market, these partners need to network and find mutually beneficial solutions that will promote industry excellence. The Forum offers that valuable opportunity.”

The Moodie Report Founder and Publisher Martin Moodie said: “While the 2009 event will evaluate the impact of a global crisis unprecedented in our industry, it will also focus on those agents and forces of progress in a channel that needs innovation, imagination and investment as never before.”

The event will begin with the traditional Opening Cocktail on September 23. The Forum itself will be held at the world-famous Macau Tower, while the Gala Dinner – to be co-hosted as mentioned by Hong Kong-based King Power Group (logo pictured right) and CAM, will be held at the MGM Grand Hotel Ballroom, one of Macau’s most sophisticated and spectacular facilities.

The preferred conference hotel is the MGM Grand, located only a very short bus ride from the conference venue. A range of alternatively priced hotels will also be made available at preferential rates.

The hotel reservation form including special delegate rates will be available soon via a dedicated website. The organizers discount the registration fee (€800) by -20% for registrations received before or on 15 May 2009.

Additionally the organisers will be making a major donation from event proceeds to this year’s nominated charity, The Smile Train China.

Delegates will also be offered the opportunity to take a tour of Macau’s latest and best retail initiatives. Macau has witnessed a flurry of travel retail activity in the past 18 months, including the opening of DFS Galleria Macao in July; and in 2007 the unveiling of the vast shopping-to-leisure complex The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, whose retail offer includes stores from Nuance-Watson (HK) and Duty Free Americas as well as King Power Hong Kong (which also runs the duty free stores at the airport and ferry port). Another major luxury retail complex, City of Dreams, will open in coming months, featuring the latest DFS Group offer.
