Tie Rack’s Black Label evokes the Italian Riviera in new collection

Black Label, the premium accessories brand by specialist retailer Tie Rack, is launching its Spring/Summer 2012 collection next month, inspired by its Italian design heritage.

Under the direction of Design Director Raffaele Caroli, the new range of accessories evokes the Italian Riviera and is characterised by “a sophisticated colour palette, inspiring prints and innovative choice and use of fabrics”, according to the brand.

Following the debut collection for Autumn/Winter 2011, Black Label has extended its range of high quality accessories for men and women.

Designed to appeal to the business traveller, Black Label offers chic pieces for work and for less formal occasions at highly competitive price points. Over 70% of the collection is made in the Como region of Italy, chosen for its quality fabrics and high levels of craftsmanship.

The SS12 collection sees the introduction of a range of women’s Italian silk scarves for all occasions. The silk “˜tie’ is a slimline, reversible style designed to be worn with a silk shirt or for a flash of colour under a suit jacket. The silk triangle scarf is also printed with a different pattern on either side and edged with stylish fringing. The silk snood is given a summer twist in a printed silk and chiffon on the reverse, making it a versatile piece and lightweight to wear. The 140cm square silk scarf in 100% Italian silk can be worn in a multitude of ways.

Also new are Black Label’s 100% silk pashminas, which are woven in India. Ideal for a wedding or more glamorous evening wear are inky blue or cream silk scarves with Indian hand beading or hand embroidered detail.

This season also see the launch of Black Label’s first jewellery range, crafted from semi-precious stones including Tiger Eye, Agate and Sandstone. The collection includes earrings, stacked rings, bracelets and a statement necklace. Sunglasses (£49) are also new for SS12 with a range for both men and women. Handmade from acetate, the sunglass collection includes an array of retro styles featuring double-sided detailing and a discreet Tie Flower logo.

Black Label’s men’s range uses a natural colour palette of denim and petrol, blues, terracotta and classic beige. New lightweight fabrics for SS12 include silk, washed linen and 100% cotton.

A noteworthy addition this season is the Panama hat. Crafted from genuine straw from Ecuador, each hat comes with a stamp of authenticity and carries a retail price of £59. Other styles in the hat range include the “˜Boardwalk’, a washed look trilby in khaki or denim, and a straw Panama style made from viscose and straw that is light and cool to wear.

Also new this spring is a range of classic travel bags, including a wash bag, weekend bag and a messenger in tan Italian leather with a printed lining.

Black Label explores its tie heritage further with a collection of hand made ties from Como, including the new five fold tie (£45) and 100% knitted silk melange tie (£50).

Scarves are very lightweight to wear and pack and include fine yarn cottons to double printed silk cotton and linen styles. Handkerchiefs are made using reversible silk and, for hotter climates, pure linen handkerchiefs have a hand stitched roll on the edge (£20).

The Spring Summer collection will be launched exclusively in Tie Rack stores and airports around the world and online at www.tie-rack/black_label from 19 March.
