Practical: Very Intelligente Pocket |
FRANCE. French company Tintamar has launched into travel retail a practical pouch which is specially designed to keep essential items stored inside a handbag or briefcase.
The Very Intelligente Pocket (dubbed ‘VIP’) can hold a wallet, phone, keys, travel documents and other items and can be transferred easily from briefcase to handbag to shopping bag, as required.
Styled in several colours to suit both men and women, including black, beige and pink, the VIP aims to put an end to rummaging in large tote bags to find keys or a mobile phone.
Measuring 22cm x 15cm x 6cm, the VIP has nine mini compartments and retails at less than €30.
Tintamar Chairman and Creative Director Edith Petit said: “We try to cultivate l’art de vivre by designing beautiful and functional objects that help make our lives easier, and especially a little more fun.”
The VIP, the latest in a series of innovative travel accessories from the company, is listed on airlines including British Airways, Lufthansa, Swiss, Air France, KLM, Virgin, Air Canada and Northwest.
About Tintamar
Tintamar, based in the seaside town of La Rochelle in western France, has rapidly established a reputation for innovative travel bags and accessories.
The Cyclobag, launched in 2004, has attracted attention in Europe and Asia, including two international design awards. Available in several cool designs, the practical round cycle bag, which attaches to the handlebars of a bicycle, can also be carried as a handbag, a backpack or a shoulder bag.
The first Cyclobag collection on the theme of the Highway Code is now being exported to Japan, the US and several European countries. Its success spawned the creation in the last three years of the Cyclokid for children, the Cyclo E-bag for a laptop, the square Cyclobag for A4 documents, and the Cyclolunch for a picnic. The latter bag includes all you need for lunch outdoors, and respects the environment with dustbin bags supplied. Other travel accessories in the collection include:
Easy Travel Set: Described as “a dressing room in your suitcase”, this set of strong and light nylon bags is designed to make packing easy and ensure clothes arrive in better shape;
Beach Bag: A light, washable, foldaway bag with a pocket for a parasol, two for magazines, two for sun cream and a zipped interior pocket for valuables;
Sac Maillot de Bain Mouillé and the Sac Serviette de Bain Mouillée: Hard-wearing, waterproof bags for wet swimsuit and towel;
Magic Bag: A light and strong foldaway shopping bag in parachute fabric presented in a neat carry case;
Refresh Pockets: An insulated bag with an ice pack that is placed in the freezer overnight to keep make up, snacks or drinks fresh while travelling.
Tintamar has entered the luggage market with the introduction of its Club Med collection of a suitcase on wheels, a weekend bag and two brightly coloured reversible bags with many handy features. Tintamar won the licence for Club Med in Spring 2008 and will introduce the collection at the Premiere Classe trade show in Paris and in Singapore in 2009.
Edith Petit founded Tintamar in 2003 after 15 years with luxury brands such as Givenchy, Chaumet, Lee Cooper and Van Cleef & Arpels. She had also spent five years in Africa where she was inspired to produce a brand concept for maternity collections.
