INDIA. Airports Authority of India has announced two tenders for food & beverage outlets at Tirupati International Airport, Andhra Pradesh.
The first is for a proposed 8sq m bakery & confectionery shop located in the Security Hold Area (SHA) on the ground floor of domestic departures.
The second 15sq m outlet, designated as a snack Bar, is located at the check-in area common to domestic & international passengers.

The Minimum Reserved License Fee (MRLF) for the outlet in the Security Hold Area is fixed at Rs.72,000 per month (US$876) while the fee for the outlet at check-in is fixed at Rs.151, 300 per month (US$1,842).
In each case, contracts are for five years and the financial criteria for both tenders is an annual turnover equivalent to 12 months’ MRLF in any one of the past seven years.
The technical criteria suggests that no prior F&B experience is required to participate in the tender, which opens opportunities for non-airport retail specialists.
Domestic passenger traffic through Tirupati Airport passed pre-Covid levels in the first half of the financial 22/23 year (April-September), according to data released previously by Airports Authority of India (AAI). For the full financial year, it is expected to hit 900,000 passengers.
Potential participants may file their queries online by 20 March 2023, according to the tender document. The last date for online submission of bids is 3 April. The technical bids are scheduled to be opened on 4 April and the financial bids on 17 April.
The city is of great tourist importance as it houses the globally acclaimed Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, the richest Hindu temple in the world with an estimated footfall of 23.70 million in 2022. The airport is 16km from the city centre of Tirupati and many leading airlines fly from there every day with pan-India connectivity. ✈
