Tokyo Narita Airport launches Vege Logo scheme to help vegetarian diners

JAPAN. Narita International Airport (NAA) is helping customers to identify vegetarian options at the airport’s restaurants with the introduction of a distinctive ‘Vege Logo’.

Starting from 1 December this year, participating restaurants are displaying shop-front posters bearing the logo and providing menu lists for vegetarian customers.

The Narita Airport website will also provide a simple list of restaurants with vegetarian menus.

NAA is also marking applicable food and drink outlets with the Vege Logo in its guides to terminal services.

A total of eight outlets in each of the main terminals 1 and 2, and five in Terminal 3, are participating.

NAA has introduced the logo and options in response to numerous customer inquiries for restaurants that offer vegetarian menus.

Two types of vegetarian menus are identified: menus that do not contain meat or seafood, and for customers with stricter dietary requirements, menus that do not contain egg, dairy products or honey in addition to meat and seafood.

The airport says the move is aimed at “accommodating the diverse needs of our customers at Narita Airport in view of further growth in visitors to Japan anticipated in the years ahead.

“Narita Airport is continuing in its efforts to offer services to cater to diversifying needs so that it continues to be our customers’ preferred airport.”
