Tokyo Narita Airport reveals Terminal 1 Airport Mall retail line-up

JAPAN. Narita International Airport Corporation (NAA) has revealed the line-up for most of the new retail spaces at its Terminal 1 landside Airport Mall.

NAA is contracting for 27 new shops, of which 22 will be present for the first time at an airport in Japan.

As reported, NAA is undertaking a full-scale refurbishment and adding +15% more retail space at the T1 Mall, leading up to a grand opening in early July.

The stores will open in stages, with the first three – Omise Parco, Cospa Akihabara and Stomp Stamp – to begin trading on 25 April.

Over May and June NAA will open 16 stores in the Airport Mall: Hello Kitty Japan, ABC-Mart, Travel Shop Gate, Cath Kidston, Russet, Urban Research, Smith, Override, Iwakura, Aspera café, Samantha & Chouette, and a gift and food outlet (operator to be announced).

Confirmed for July openings are Katakana Panda, Mame Gui, Gumori-e, Tabio on the Ground, Traveler’s Factory, 365 De Swati, Mëri Matka and A&F Country.

Work is underway to transform the Airport Mall, creating features like this new South Wing entrance

“As part of our effort to create an airport of customers’ choice, we are bringing together a diverse range of well-known and popular names offering their latest trend-setting and sought-after goods for Japanese travellers as well as overseas visitors,” an NAA spokesperson said.

“We want to make this airport not just a port but also the venue for a unique shopping experience.”
