Tomatin whisky ‘To What Matters’ campaign lands at Edinburgh Airport

UK. Tomatin Highland Single Malt has launched its ‘To What Matters’ campaign at Edinburgh Airport, featuring two of the distillery’s travel retail-exclusive Scotch whiskies.

Until 31 March, passengers can sample the Tomatin 8 Year Old and 12 Year Old – both available in travel retail as one-litre bottles with RRPs of £35.99 and £44.99 respectively.

The ‘To What Matters’ campaign aims to celebrate the dedication and craftsmanship of the people behind the creation of every Tomatin bottle. The display at Edinburgh Airport embraces Tomatin’s Scottish highland landscape that forms the backdrop for the distillery.

Tomatin Distillery Global Sales Director Graham Nicolson said: “The debut of ‘To What Matters’ alongside a collection of some of our finest expressions is a fantastic opportunity for those travelling through Edinburgh to discover the wonders that are hidden in our casks here at Tomatin.”

Tomatin 8 Year Old whisky is a blend of sweet and fruity flavours, aged in ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso Sherry casks. The vanilla-sweetened baked apples and pears aromas evolve into deeper, darker fruit flavours, which are gently balanced with ginger and cinnamon.

Nicolson said, “The Tomatin 8 Year Old is a light, delicate and approachable single malt, giving it a broad appeal – it’s a great introductory malt at an extremely competitive price point.”

The brand’s full travel retail-exclusive range includes Tomatin 16 Year Old and Tomatin 21 Year Old, available at airports worldwide

Tomatin’s 12 Year Old whisky is known for its smoothness, said the brand owner, which comes from maturation in traditional oak, ex-Bourbon and ex-Spanish Sherry casks. It has aromas of wild heather, pine and cedar that sweeten to reveal notes of crème caramel with apples, pears and mango, giving it a full-bodied, buttery finish.

“The Tomatin 12 Year Old is remarkably smooth and easy drinking, consistently winning awards for many years. We are constantly striving to push the boundaries within our whisky portfolio, and our global travel retail range is no exception,” added Nicolson. ✈
