Tommy Hilfiger to make industry entrance at TFWA Asia Pacific

Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 2011

NETHERLANDS. The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, has announced that coinciding with its entrance into the travel retail business it will participate in the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore for the first time.

The company will occupy a 40sq m booth (stand number H4) designed to replicate a Tommy Hilfiger travel retail shop. The booth will feature a display of Spring/Summer 2011 apparel and accessories appropriate for the travel retail market.

Earlier this year, the Tommy Hilfiger Group announced the establishment of a Global Duty Free & Travel Retail Division. This new business unit was created to address the specific needs of the growing travel retail channel and to provide dedicated resources and a focused team to explore tax free opportunities in airports, downtown stores and via airline partnerships, the company said.

The new division is headed by Briac Pinault, Vice President, Global Duty Free & Travel Retail, who is based in Amsterdam. A seasoned travel and fashion retail executive, Pinault previously worked with other travel retail players including Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss, BPI and YSL Beauté.
