DENMARK. The fun-loving crew at Toms Group hosted a spectacular night-time cruise during Cannes week for their travel retail clients to enjoy.
“The company’s parties are becoming legendary,” the hand-picked audience were rightly told during the event, which took South America as its theme, to chime in with the company’s new product developments.
To get everyone in the mood for Latino-style entertainment, ponchos and Mojito cocktails were given out as the boat glided out of Cannes harbour into the Mediterranean (see pictures below).

Back safely on dry land, inside the Palais des Festivals at TFWA World Exhibition, the company presented its 2006 product launches to travel retail buyers (details below). The company, whose main markets are the Nordic region and Europe, has notched up a turnover of around DKr113 million (US$18 million) and is aiming to develop its business. A move into Prague Airport is on the cards, in line with its focus on Eastern Europe. The firm has received listings in the top four airports in the Middle East and is negotiating with two other airports in the region. Toms will have a presence at MEDFA this year.

NEW ANTHON BERG PRODUCTS
Chocolate Origins: The Anthon Berg brand’s major introduction is Chocolate Origins, aimed at serious chocolate lovers. The new series of dark chocolates consists of three 100g tablets from three continents – Ghana, Ecuador and New Guinea – with a high cocoa content of between 60% and 72%. For travel retailers Toms has developed an exclusive gift package combining all three tablets in one box. The gift box reveals the stories behind the three different chocolates.
New Fruit in Marzipan chocolates: Chocolates with a new flavour combining Muscat dessert wine and marzipan.
Marzipan Minis 250g: Individually-wrapped Mini Marzipan pieces in pink outer packaging. Can be a stand-alone product or sold on a display.
Selection Ganache 200g: A 25-piece square box with milk, white and dark chocolates in five flavours – passionfruit, raspberry, tangerine, coconut and elderflower champagne.
Royal Selection Exclusive Tin 300g: Ready to gift with a black ribbon and bow. Two layers of pralines and grand cru chocolates; contains both pure and filled pieces.
Hans-Christian Andersen Souvenir Tin: Following the success of last year’s limited edition product, this new design features fairy tale designs on the front and a small book inside. Contains 25 pieces of pralines, nougat and caramel.
Liqueur-filled bottles gift box: Targeted at male consumers, the gift-packaged liqueur-filled chocolate bottles include Drambuie, Camus, Remy Martin, Ballantine’s and Jack Daniel’s. Three layers of bottles, five of each liqueur, 15 bottles in total.
Pingo Game and Lollipops box: This “Noughts and Crosses” box contains 12 lollipops on top, ready to be placed in the holes.
Pingo Bucket and Sweets: The travel retail exclusive bucket presentation features Captain Pingo and miniature figures. Contains 280g of assorted candy. Easy to carry and reusable. The company said it received “excellent feedback” from buyers during the TFWA World Exhibition.
Bon Bon: Losseplads X-Treme: A line extension of the successful Losseplads product, the line continues the cheeky Losseplads (“Dustbin”) theme with its rat character. The travel packs contain candy which is sweet on the outside and sour inside – hence it is dubbed “X-Treme/extreme”.
