Toni & Guy styles Britain’s brightest talent at London Fashion Week

Unilever brand Toni & Guy has further strengthened its fashion credentials with a high-profile presence at the Spring/Summer 16 London Fashion Week.

Toni & Guy Hair Products Global Ambassador Mark Hampton was once again armed with the brand’s product collections backstage to create catwalk hair looks for three of Britain’s brightest designers: Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Roksanda and Ashley Williams.

Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray was key to creating Vivienne Westwood Red Label’s shipwrecked look Roksanda’s hair styles were inspired by the fluidity of silk contrasting with the dishevelled glamour of a 1960s dinner partyVivienne Westwood Red Label’s SS16 was inspired by the Vivienne Westwood woman’s travels and experiences in Europe and on a shipwrecked desert island. Hair in this collection is said to emulate that of someone who has been submerged in the sea, leaving hair to dry naturally in the morning sun on a desert island.

The key product to create this look was Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray.

“The key to the look is the sea-swept texture. The waves are natural and uneven, as if the hair has dried naturally in the sun. Sea Salt Texturising Spray gives you the perfect ‘holiday’ texture without the crunch of hair that’s been damaged by the sun. My tip is to dry the product in with a diffuser to stop the hair looking too wet”, explained Hampton.

Young fashion designer Ashley Williams presents her take on the classic grunge look Lightness, romanticism and Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, were central to Roksanda’s theme. The fluidity of silk contrasting with the dishevelled glamour of a 1960s dinner party were the inspiration for hair styles.

Glamour 3D Volumiser was among the key products used.

Rising star Ashley Williams created a collection inspired by the classic grunge look for the “sexy female misfit”. Hair was styled in a not-so-straight way with a deep side parting, dressed with jewelled beetles and skull crowns.

Hampton said: “The key to make this hair look ‘punk’ and not ‘cute’ is the deep side parting, making the hair fall heavier on one side for a dramatic look. Add a pea-sized amount of Toni & Guy Classic Shine Gloss Serum to the ends to control frizz and keep it beautiful.”
