US/INTERNATIONAL. A high-class line-up of speakers representing cruiselines, retail concessionaires and brand owners has taken shape for The Retail Day at Seatrade Cruise Global.
As reported, The Retail Day – a series of conference sessions dedicated to retail at sea – takes place at Miami Beach Convention Center on 10 April, and is co-organised by The Moodie Davitt Report. Seatrade Cruise Global is the premier annual gathering of the cruise industry worldwide and runs from 8-11 April.
The partnership between Seatrade Cruise Global and The Moodie Davitt Report reflects the fast-growing importance of retailing to cruiseline revenues and its role in enhancing the guest experience.
Themes to be addressed at the event include the future of onboard retail, industry partnerships, sustainability in the retail design and offer, the role of people, cruise port collaborations and how the sector can drive luxury brand growth to the next level.
The conference will begin at 10 am on Wednesday 10 April with opening remarks by moderators The Moodie Davitt Report President Dermot Davitt and Seatrade Retail Ambassador (and Reklaim Global SVP Revenue – Travel & Hospitality) Nadine Heubel, followed by a one-to-one keynote interview with Holland America Line President Gustavo Antorcha.
A cruise ‘Trinity’ panel will then discuss the health of the onboard retail business, alongside challenges and opportunities. Speakers include Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Guest Commerce & Onboard Revenue Luis Terife, Starboard Cruise Services President & CEO Lisa Bauer and LVMH Beauty Managing Director Travel Retail Americas André Marzloff.
A session titled ‘Nurturing our People – The Retail View’ will include Harding+ Senior Vice President Patrick Molloy, Heinemann Americas Director, HR Natalia Rolle Phillips and Starboard Chief People Experience Officer John McGirl.
