Top suppliers and retailers commit to TFWA Asia Pacific 2010

ASIA PACIFIC. Major suppliers and operators have demonstrated their commitment to the Asia Pacific region by confirming their participation at TFWA Asia Pacific & Gate ONE2ONE exhibition and conference, which will run from 9 to 13 May 2010 in Singapore.

“Online pre-registration is open and applications are streaming in,” the organisers said. TFWA expects to welcome up to 2,000 buyers, agents and other visitors to the annual event.

Some 170 major suppliers to the industry in the region have committed to exhibit at TFWA Asia Pacific & Gate ONE2ONE, which will be held at the Singapore Suntec centre, including many of the biggest names in the industry as well as smaller brands.

Eleven of the 20 largest companies in the travel retail market, as ranked by industry analyst Generation Research*, will be present at the regional show.

Leading multinational exhibitors

One quarter of confirmed exhibitors at TFWA Asia Pacific & Gate ONE2ONE are fragrances and cosmetics companies, a category which generates 31% of duty free and travel retail annual sales worldwide, according to Generation.

They include The Estée Lauder Companies, the second biggest company overall in travel retail, which generates 4.1% of global revenue; Parfums Christian Dior; returning exhibitor Coty Prestige; as well as Puig, Bulgari Parfums, Shiseido and L’Oréal Consumer Products, all of which are ranked in the industry’s top 25 beauty companies.

Pernod Ricard, ranked fourth overall in the travel retail market, leads the wine and spirits exhibitors at TFWA Asia Pacific & Gate ONE2ONE. In total, eight of the 13 beverage suppliers which make it into Generation’s Top 50 – Rémy Cointreau, Bacardi International, Beam Global, William Grant, Campari International and returning exhibitors Camus Cognac and Heineken – will exhibit at the show.

Ten of the 13 confectionery companies which feature in the Top 50 will exhibit in Singapore, including market leaders Kraft, Mars, Nestlé, Cadbury, Ferrero and Godiva, plus a dozen other suppliers of luxury chocolates, sugar confectionery and fine foods. Long-time exhibitor Mars will treble the size of its stand this year.

From the tobacco sector, four of the five companies ranked in the Top 50 will be exhibiting: BAT, JT International, Imperial Tobacco and Swedish Match.

35 new exhibitors

In addition to the dominant multinationals, there are 35 new exhibitors, such as Philips Consumer Lifestyle, in electronics; Adolfo Dominguez and Tintamar, in fashion; Revlon, Artdeco, Smashbox, Oilily, Jacomo and Lorience beauty companies; Clogau, Deumer and Ice-Watch jewellery and watches; J Cortes cigars; and liquor companies Tequilera Corralejo and Destilerias Campeny.
