Swarovski welcomes you to the giant’s lair
Built to celebrate the crystal company’s 100th anniversary, it is now Austria’s second most popular tourist attraction. Small wonder.

UK. Swarovski Travel Retail and Harrods International have partnered to open a 224sq ft Swarovski shop at London Gatwick Airport South Terminal.

The store, situated next to the Harrods signature shop, offers travelling consumers a wide variety of products including special Harrods exclusives items – a Crystalline Pen and Tempo Set, both only available only at London airports.

Daniel Swarovski Corp AG Head of Sales North and Eastern Europe Travel Retail Dmitry Schipakov told The Moodie Report: “Another feature, perfectly matching the Uniquely Harrods motto, is the open showcase presentation.

“What started as an accident at Heathrow Terminal 3 has become a new and interesting approach. By removing the glass cabinet doors we want to encourage and allow our customers to touch & feel Swarovski jewellery, reaching out to new consumers through the magic of crystal sparkle never being so close and alive.”

As reported, Harrods opened a mini-department store at Gatwick Airport South Terminal on 1 August (look out for our major report, including exclusive Moodie Report video coverage, coming soon). The 6,000 sq ft site is the biggest Harrods outlet yet at Gatwick.

The Harrods store is an anchor development of the new retail line-up currently taking shape in the revamped International Departures Lounge at the South Terminal. A total of 22 new stores will open by the end of the year.
