Toulouse-Blagnac Airport opens Hall D, its new terminal for European and long-haul flights |
FRANCE. Toulouse Blagnac Airport today opened its new terminal, known as Hall D. The move doubled the surface area of the airport and raised passenger capacity to 8.5 million a year.
The first flight today left for Saint-Denis on Reunion Island, and was operated by Air Austral. The terminal will handle European and long-haul international flights.
Toulouse Blagnac Airport CEO Jean-Michel Vernhes said: “We are preparing for the future by equipping our terminal with the latest technology and by offering a quality of service equivalent to that of the biggest European airports. After four years of construction work, we are now beginning the operational stage and our aim is to come up to the expectations of the passengers and airline companies who will use it.”
The Nuance Group operates the travel retail contract, covering around 1,200sq m of space at the airport, under a seven-year deal.
