Pernod Ricard last night hosted a spectacular unveiling of the latest expression from Maison Martell, Martell Chanteloup XXO, at the historic Petit Palais in Paris.
Martell Chanteloup XXO, meaning Extra Extra Old, is made from 450 eaux-de-vie.

“Martell Chanteloup XXO is proof if proof were needed that – three centuries after it was founded – Maison Martell is still opening the way for new expressions of Cognac” – Maison Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud

The launch in Paris was attended by leading figures from Martell, Pernod Ricard and the global Cognac community, together with media representatives including The Moodie Davitt Report.

Guests were treated to a choice of Martell-based cocktails in the gardens of the Petit Palais before moving inside for a lavish five-course dinner created for the occasion by triple-Michelin Star chef Guy Savoy. Savoy used a dash of Martell in each course and created the dishes to go with specific Martell expressions.

After two courses, all eyes turned to the stage for the much-anticipated launch of Martell Chanteloup XXO. Guests were treated to a beguiling show from a trampolinist, who bounced and twisted his way up a flight of stairs with a bottle of the new Cognac expression.
It was then time for the first taste of Martell Chanteloup XXO, expertly guided by Maison Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud.

He said: “Martell Chanteloup XXO is proof if proof were needed that – three centuries after it was founded – Maison Martell is still opening the way for new expressions of Cognac.”
The travel retail industry will get its first taste of the new Cognac at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes later this month.

This comes ahead of a release on 1 January 2020 with DFS at Singapore Changi Airport, CDF-Lagardère (Duty Zero by cdf) at Hong Kong International Airport and in the Chinese domestic market ahead of the Lunar New Year. The Cognac will then be launched in the wider global travel retail market in March 2020. The travel retail price is yet to be confirmed but the benchmark is €390 (US$429).
We’ll bring you more details and product images of this key launch in an updated report soon.
