UK. The Travel Retail Consortium (TRC) has launched the donation page (click here for access) for its ‘Walk for a Cure’ events, supporting its charity of the year 2025: Alzheimer’s Research UK.
As reported, TRC will host two charity walks this September, with all proceeds dedicated to advancing dementia research.
TRC aims to raise £18,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK, an amount that would cover a PhD research student’s funding for a year.

“It’s a great deal of money but we are really hopeful that the travel retail industry – plus friends and family of the individuals taking part – will come together and help us to raise our target,” says TRC Chairperson Sharon Edwards-Smith.
“The page has only just gone live and we’ve already almost reached £2,000, so I’m really hopeful that we will reach our goal by September.”
Donations can be made via the fundraising page by clicking the ‘Donate to Travel Retail Consortium’ button. Participants may also reach out to industry colleagues directly.
All contributions, whether made to TRC or individuals, will be pooled into the consortium fundraising pot.
TRC is encouraging industry members to participate in one of its charity walks and contribute to the fundraising effort.
‘Walk for a Cure’ offers a range of distances to accommodate all fitness levels, with options of 13, 21 or 42km in Peak District National Park and 6, 21 or 34km in Cotswolds.
