Trudi Loren takes on new responsibilities at Lauder – 03/04/06

US. The Estée Lauder Companies has confirmed that Trudi Loren, Vice President, Corporate Fragrance Development, will expand her current responsibilities to include the creative work on Clinique, Aramis and Tommy Hilfiger Toiletries.

These duties were previously handled by Raymond Matts, Vice President, Corporate Fragrance Development (pictured), who is leaving the group to pursue an independent career in fragrance development.

Matts has spent nearly two decades in the industry, half of that time with The Estée Lauder Companies.
He has been responsible for the development of some of the company’s most successful fragrance launches, including Clinique Happy and Clinique Happy for Men, the Tommy Summer fragrances for him and for her, and the new Aramis Always for him and her.

“Trudi has been instrumental in working with our designer licensees to create fragrances that support their own unique styles,” said Evelyn H. Lauder, Senior Corporate Vice President and head of Fragrance Development Worldwide for The Estée Lauder Companies.

“Her strong relationships with our key perfumers help the company continue to produce alluring, enticing fragrances for each of our individual brands.”

An 18-year veteran of the industry, Loren will also retain her current development responsibilities for the company’s Donna Karan Cosmetics, Michael Kors Beauty, Missoni Profumi and Bobbi Brown brands.

Karyn Khoury, Senior Vice President, Corporate Fragrance Development, will continue to direct activities for a number of key core brands, including Estée Lauder and MAC, and the BeautyBank division.

A 25-year veteran of the company, she is known internationally as an expert “nose” and has most recently been recognised for her work on Sean John Unforgivable in collaboration with Jennifer Balbier, Senior Vice President of MAC and Corporate Packaging Innovation, and the Tom Ford Estée Lauder Collection Youth Dew Amber Nude.

Both Khoury and Loren report to Evelyn Lauder, along with the leaders of their individual brands.
