Ulysse Nardin and DFS celebrate the spirit of ‘X-ploration’ with Sharks in Macau exhibition

Dare to go on a deep-sea adventure? The Sharks in Macau interactive photo booth recreates a underwater shark-cage experience

CHINA (MACAU). Kering-owned Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin has teamed up with DFS to launch the ‘Sharks in Macau’ Exhibition at T Galleria by DFS, Macau, City of Dreams. The installation showcases the brand’s Skeleton X and Freak X novelties. It will run until 31 December.

The immersive exhibition was inspired by the spirit of underwater exploration and features the brand’s first interactive shark photo booth in Asia Pacific travel retail. In line with the theme of ‘X-ploration,’ visitors can take an underwater adventure and enjoy a thrilling virtual shark-cage experience at the pop-up.

The Skeleton X is a small 42mm angular watch, featuring a bold X design comprised of four indexes framed in a triangle, which allows the user to see the inner mechanisms of the watch. It also features a lightweight balance wheel in silicium, nickel flyweights and stabilising micro-blades.

The Skeleton X also features the brand’s new UN-371 calibre Manufacture movement which has a 96-hour power reserve. It is available in four shades: satin-finish titanium blue, satin-finish titanium black, satin-finish rose gold and matte-finish Carbonium gold.

The Freak X is the latest expression of Ulysse Nardin’s Freak Collection. The compact 43mm watch features a crown for time correction and breaks away from the traditionally crown-less watches of the Freak range. The Freak X features a baguette movement in a carousel, turning once on itself every hour. With no dial and no hands, the watch’s central bridge represents the minutes while one of the wheels represents the hours.

For over 170 years, Ulysse Nardin has been a trailblazer in pioneering watchmaking technology. The brand has gained international acclaim for its time-honoured enamelling techniques which include Grand Feu, Cloisonné, Champlevé and Flinqué. Ulysse Nardin has been a part of the Kering Group since 2014.
