Underberg goes around the world in Cannes liquor offer

Herbal liquor specialist Underberg is poised to showcase a number of novelties from several different brands at the TFWA World Exhibition (Green Village, M70).

Central to the Underberg offer is the limited-edition gift tin 2017. The tin was created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Underberg song and the new version by male folk group voXXclub.

The tin design features scenes from the Underberg TV spot, with voXXclub and friends hiking through alpine scenery.

The collectors’ item tin is filled with 12 Underberg portion bottles.

Other highlights in Cannes will include Brazilian herbal drink Brasilberg and Balearic Island Hierbas brand Túnel.

Túnel Mezcladas (medium dry), 30%abv, is available in a 1L bottle and is said to provide a pure anise taste. Túnel 14 Reserva Familiar, said to be distinguished by its fresher and smoother taste, contains 14 different herbs including rosemary and thyme.

Underberg will also present its 1989 Vintage Asbach Freiheitsbrand (freedom brandy). The limited-edition 70cl presentation was initially bottled to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall (9 November 1989)

The Asbach offer will also include new Asbach Fire, a liqueur that is spiced with cinnamon and chili, and luxury product Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Vintage Reserve 1952.

The limited-edition Asbach, dedicated to famous German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, was created 60 years ago at the Asbach distillery in Rüdesheim. It is based on a 1951 vintage white wine which was distilled using the traditional craft process of double distillation in copper stills. The distillate was left to age for six decades in small casks made of Limousin oak before developing its bouquet in larger German oak casks in the Asbach Treasure Trove.

Each carafe, of which there are only 900, features a unique bottle and cask number and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The carafe is offered with two original Asbach Connoisseur glasses in a box made of wood from the Bavarian Forest.

A travel-friendly edition has been created for travel retail, which includes a voucher for the two Connoisseur glasses instead of them being presented in the box.

Neuschwansteiner, described as an alternative to vintage wine or high-end Champagne, is based on a traditional recipe for March beer and refined through a three-stage brewing process. The spirit has a 6%abv and is presented in a dark brown 75cl Champagne-style bottle.
