Unlocking personal care: Braun partners with Shopping China at Paraguayan border stores

PARAGUAY. Braun is collaborating with Paraguayan travel retailer Shopping China to grow sales of personal care items in the border channel.

The partners are focusing on products that are not available on the domestic markets in Brazil and Paraguay, in Shopping China stores in Ciudad del Este, Salto del Guairá and Pedro Juan Caballero (all in Paraguay).

Personal care products, including the Braun Series 5 shaver, are available in Shopping China stores on the Paraguay-Brazil border.

Shopping China Import Executive Patricia Gayoso said: “Shoppers coming from Brazil know the Braun brand, but cannot buy its products in their home country. Beard trimming and grooming are growing trends in the region.”

Braun products feature in gondola displays at the Shopping China Pedro Juan Caballero store.

Braun Regional Sales Manager Sven Olschewski added: “We are aiming to unlock the personal care category at these border shops.

“We offer access to products which are hardly available in both Brazil and Paraguay, even online. Shopping China is an ideal partner as the premium shopping experience it offers totally fits the brand.”

Olschewski said plans for billboard advertising at a key location in Brazil are in the pipeline. The billboard will target Brazilian shoppers who often travel hundreds of kilometres to take advantage of the lower prices, due to lower taxation rates, offered on imported products such as those produced by Braun.

Shopping China is a family-owned company founded in 1933 in Pedro Juan Caballero, Paraguay.
