MALAYSIA. Luxury travel retailer Valiram has partnered with property developer Jesselton Waterfront Holdings to open a new travel retail concept mall, Jesselton Duty Free, in the Jesselton Mall in Kota Kinabalu.
The partners said that the sea-front mall represents the first downtown travel retail concept in Sabah, offering international travellers an opportunity to shop in a duty free environment.
Jesselton Duty Free features 37,000sq ft of ground floor retail space in the mall, housing a range of beauty, fashion and timepiece brands.
Jesselton Duty Free introduces to Kota Kinabalu a number of luxury brand firsts such as YSL Beauty, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Whoo, Versace, Hugo Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren and Lacoste. Other leading brands and concepts at the new complex include Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Tumi, Versace, Swarovski and a multi-brand Swiss Watch Gallery.

Jesselton Duty Free is part of Jesselton Residences, a three-block high-end residential condominium complex which is adjacent to the Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal, and has become a seafront landmark in the central business district (CBD) of Kota Kinabalu.
Kota Kinabalu is a popular destination among international travellers. Valiram said that, together with Jesselton Waterfront Holdings, it is confident that Jesselton Duty Free will “invigorate the retail market and offer tourists a more competitive shopping experience”.
