Valiram names top former DFS Group executive Julian Levy as Chief Operating Officer – 18/12/06

MALAYSIA. The Valiram Group announced today the appointment of Julian Levy as Chief Operating Officer, effective 1 January.

Levy was formerly President of the US Group for the world’s leading travel retailer DFS Group, where he was responsible for the operations of approximately half the company’s worldwide business. He first joined DFS Group in the UK in 1988 and thereafter held a number of key positions within the organisation in the UK, Oceania, mainland US, Hawaii and Micronesia.

He joins the group at a critical point in its development. As reported , The Valiram Group was recently awarded the Changi Terminal Two fashionwear concession, heading strong competition from the incumbent, DFS Group, and from Nuance-Watson (Singapore).

The 8,500sq ft space will see a powerful line-up of brands which will include shop-in-shop concept stores for Bvlgari, Cartier, Bottega Veneta, Chloé, Fendi, Tod’s, Coach, Dunhill & Shanghai Tang.

For Chloé this will be the first-ever travel retail store to be launched, and other first-time entrants into Changi include Bottega Veneta, Tod’s and Shanghai Tang. Additionally there will be a wide selection of branded accessories including sunglasses, ties, luggage, bags, belts, shoes and costume jewellery from other major brands including Longchamp, Lacoste, Tumi, Swarovski and LeSportsac.
