AMERICAS. Tamara Vrooman, President & CEO of Vancouver Airport Authority, is the latest airport industry leader to join the speaker line-up for the Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience, which takes place on 5-9 April.
She joins other leading figures from the airports world including Dallas Fort Worth International Airport CEO Sean Donohue, Roel Huinink, President & CEO of JFKIAT (the company that manages John F. Kennedy International Airport T4) and Corporación América Airports CEO (and ACI World Chair) Martín Eurnekian.
As reported, the all-digital Summit of the Americas is being organised by the International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and Asociación Sudamericana de Tiendas Libres (ASUTIL) in partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report (which organised the successful Virtual Travel Retail Expo from 12-16 October).
Tamara Vrooman joined Vancouver, Canada’s second busiest airport, as CEO last year. Before this, she was President & CEO of Vancity, Canada’s largest community credit union with C$28 billion in assets, and Deputy Minister of Finance for the Province of British Columbia and Secretary to the Treasury Board and CEO of the Public Sector Employers’ Council.
Her expertise has been sought by organisations, leaders and governments at all levels—regional, provincial, national and international—on the economy, social change and environmental sustainability.
Views on the shape and rhythm of recovery in the Americas market will be a central focus of the Knowledge Hub sessions. Themes to be explored include the reshaping of the airport experience, changing consumer demand, digitalisation, the business model, alongside sessions that analyse travel prospects for the region and on the economic outlook. The event will also host the DFNI Americas Awards, as well as a Sustainability Session led by TRBusiness.
The speaker line-up and agenda can be found here.
Visitor registration (free to all travel retailers and airport companies) is open at the official event website, which is now live.
