Swiss lifestyle brand Victorinox and sportswear company Adidas have teamed up for a sneaker and pocket knife collaboration.
The EQT 93 Victorinox sneakers and matching Classic SD Solemate Limited Edition Pocket Knife brings together the skills of both houses. They are now available in selected travel retail and domestic markets.
The EQT 93 Victorinox sneakers’ design varies from the left and right shoe. The left shoe represents Victorinox through distinctive design details.
This includes an image of Victorinox’s popular Spartan pocket knife on the heel, the Victorinox Cross and Shield emblem on the side and the Victorinox corporate design on the inner sole. The coordinates of Victorinox’s headquarters in Ibach, Switzerland can also be seen through the transparent outer sole.
The right shoe features Adidas’s logo on the heel, the brand’s signature three stripe emblem on the side and Adidas’s corporate design on the inner sole. The coordinates of the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany is visible via the outer sole. The sneakers come with a special pouch.
The Classic SD Solemate Limited Edition Pocket Knife was designed to complement the shoe. The multi-functional pocket knife has a lifetime guarantee against any defects in material and workmanship. One scale features the Victorinox Damasteel pattern, while the other side showcases Victorinox’s corporate design.
The Damasteel pattern has been integral to Victorinox for many years, featuring on the brand’s limited edition Swiss Army Knives, household knives and Travel Gear lines.
The Classic SD Solemate Limited Edition Pocket Knife comes with a nappa leather pouch which can be attached to the sneaker and a key hanger that matches the colour of the EQT 93 Victorinox’s shoelaces. The coordinates of both companies’ headquarters are engraved on the blade, underlining the value of the partnership.
Customers who buy the sneakers are invited to visit a Victorinox store to complete the set by purchasing a matching pocket knife.
“As we celebrate the 125th year of the Swiss Army Knife, we are proud that we can consistently reinvent this iconic accessory,” Victorinox Head of Global Channels Thomas Bodenmann. “The travel retail customer is seeking innovation and quality and appreciates functionality and style. By forging robust partnerships with trusted brands like Adidas we meet the needs of travellers and continue to position ourselves as a strong multi-category lifestyle brand.”
Victorinox Chief of marketing Veronika Elsener added, “Collaborations are a strategic pillar of our marketing efforts and we are very proud to announce this great partnership with Adidas. We are thrilled with the outcome of the products which bring unique design and exciting details.”
