Vincent Boinay is named International Retail Director at L’Oréal Luxe

L’Oréal Luxe has named Vincent Boinay to the key post of International Retail Director, heading the newly created International Retail Department.

Boinay is well-known to the travel retail sector, having been Managing Director of Travel Retail Worldwide from 2005 to 2007.

Explaining the new department and Boinay’s role, the company said: “L’Oréal Luxe considers the excellence of its retail operations and its service to be its core priority. It is with this in mind that it has taken the decision to set up an International Retail Department. Under the leadership of Vincent Boinay, the aim of this department will be to firmly establish the excellence of L’Oréal Luxe in this domain in the years ahead.”

The International Retail Department will, via the creation of a centre of retail expertise within L’Oréal Luxe, promote relations with major international distributors, further develop the division’s digital operations – in particular Customer Relationship Management and E-Commerce – and drive retail and service strategy.

Boinay joined the Group in 1991. He has devoted the whole of his career to the L’Oréal Luxe Division, including eight years in travel retail which culminated in the global leadership role.

For the last four years he has been in charge of the L’Oréal Luxe Division in Japan, a country renowned for the quality of its service, the company noted. Here he focused on the retail aspects of the business, in particular the professionalisation of the customer experience in department stores, developing the company’s E-Commerce solutions and opening its own stores with Kiehl’s.

He was also involved, along with the L’Oréal Luxe brands, in discussions on innovative selective distribution operations.

Eric Tarral remains in charge of Travel Retail Worldwide.
