ASIA PACIFIC. The Vinexpo Asia Pacific 2010 has sold out, two months before it takes place on 25-27 May in Hong Kong.

A total of 800 exhibitors will showcase wines and spirits from 32 producing countries with stands occupying 8,500sq m of floor space.

The top ten producing nations will be substantially represented at the Vinexpo Asia Pacific 2010 in Hong Kong

Among these countries the top ten producing nations will be substantially represented. According to the Vinexpo The IWSR 2010 study, these ten alone account for 80.1% of world production.

The top three – France, Italy and Spain – produced more than 1.472 billion cases or 46% of production worldwide in 2009, said Vinexpo. These three countries take advantage of their size by maximising exposure at Vinexpo Asia Pacific in regional pavilions and individual companies.

The three leaders are followed by the US, Argentina, Australia, Germany, Chile, Russia and, following its highly noticed entry into the top ten, China.

Other countries taking part include Portugal, Switzerland and South Africa, as well as spirits-producing countries such as the UK, Russia, Japan and Ukraine. France is represented in particular by the Cognac and Armagnac producers.
