Virgin Voyages and Starboard reveal eclectic shopping offer onboard Resilient Lady

USA. Virgin Voyages and exclusive retail partner Starboard Cruise Services have revealed an eclectic premium shopping offer for the new ship Resilient Lady, which is set for its maiden voyage from Piraeus, Greece on 14 May.

The cruise line said the retail programme channels LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned Starboard’s position as the industry leader in designing transformative retail environments and distinct guest experiences.

The retail assortment aboard Resilient Lady features ‘purpose-driven’ brands, designer luxe collections, destination pop-ups and a shopping concept that is described as inclusive to all guests.

Guests of soon-to-launch Resilient Lady can look forward to a high-quality retail line-up curated by Starboard Cruise Services

In the High Street Shops zone on Deck 6, Virgin Voyages said sustainability meets elevated luxury with a wide range of products including LVMH-exclusive brands, while destination pop-ups on Deck 7 will offer products that represent ports visited.

The world-class LVMH line-up includes a standalone Bvlgari boutique offering jewellery, watches, handbags and accessories; Marc Jacobs with classic totes and crossbody bags; and Stella McCartney with high-end fashion pieces made from vegan materials.

Also featuring in the retail offer is the Swiss Shop, which will feature famous timepiece brands such as Tag Heuer and Hublot.

Starboard President and CEO Lisa Bauer has pledged to engage with guests through “thoughtful retail moments”

Starboard is also presenting a curated assortment of brands and collections “that depict stories encompassing Virgin Voyages’ conscious values”. Products from Engrace Diamonds, the world’s first lab-grown diamonds at sea, and artisan handcrafted jewellery from John Hardy feature. Vintage, pre-loved luxury accessories and leather goods will also be available from What Goes Around Comes Around.

Brands with strong sustainability credentials such as Summersalt (size-inclusive swimwear made with earth-friendly practices), Stitch Note (elevated printed linen made from sustainable materials), and Loci (vegan sneakers) also appear in the shopping offer.

The beauty shop will feature cruelty free lines, such as UK brand Iconic London, well-known for its ‘glow-giving’ products and vegan brushes and Juice Beauty, award-winning vegan skincare and beauty items made with organic ingredients. Additionally, shoppers will discover ‘clean’ beauty brands such as Beekman Clinically Kind.

The retail offer also features some ocean firsts. Resilient Lady will be the first ship to introduce Mono B, an athleisure gender-inclusive brand made from premium fibres and quality performance fabrics, with sizes ranging from XS to 3XL.

Keeping in line with Virgin Voyage’s support of sustainable practices, Citizen’s first standalone boutique at sea will display all sustainable products reflective of the brand’s call to action of preventing one million watch batteries from going to landfill by 2024.

Citizen pioneered the world’s first Eco-Drive watch in 1976, enabling watches to be powered by any light source, continuously and sustainably, eliminating the need to replace batteries, and preventing them entering landfills each year.

Starboard is also responsible for retail offers onboard several other Virgin Voyages ships including Valiant Lady, and later this year on the new ships Scarlet Lady and Brilliant Lady.

Virgin Voyages CEO Tom McAlpin said: “As a brand, Virgin Voyages creates unforgettable experiences for our sailors. Retail is such an important part of the overall experience that we offer and partnering with industry veteran, Starboard, is an exciting opportunity to make our fleet the ultimate retail destination on the high seas.”

Starboard President and CEO Lisa Bauer said: “Together, we’ve curated a thoughtful collection of upscale, inclusive and sustainable products that seamlessly align with Virgin Voyages’ Lady Ships.

“Our reimagined retail caters to the sailor’s aspirations and passions, engaging through thoughtful retail moments and offering something special for everyone onboard.” ✈
