US. Leading video eyewear manufacturer Vuzix Corporation is set to demonstrate its popular Wrap range of video eyewear at this week’s Airline Retail Conference.
The company will be represented on the TNS Travel Retail stand (Stand number: K29), where visitors can test the eyewear and experience the large screen movie capabilities that the glasses provide for travellers.
The Vuzix Wrap range connects to a multitude of portable devices including the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch – as illustrated in the Moodie Magnifier below – and many other leading mobile handsets in order to allow the user to watch movies and music videos directly from their device on a large screen. Powered by two AA batteries and connected directly to the device, all the traveller needs is a pillow and popcorn to make the cinema experience complete, Vuzix said.
For the first time ever, airline passengers can enjoy 3D movies while being thousands of feet in the air, the company added. “Our target market is definitely the traveller seeking the ultimate viewing experiences 30,000ft in the air,” said Vuzix Director of Operations for EMEA region David Lock.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for those important buyers within the airline industry to discover a new and exciting product that they can add to their sales portfolio. Whether it’s long or short haul, passenger comfort and relaxation aboard a flight is essential. The Wrap eyewear gives passengers the opportunity to be completely immersed in a movie of their choice – including popular 2D/3D movies.”
The Airline Retail Conference runs from 30 June – 1 July at The Brewery in London.
