The new store is Germany’s first Sunglass Hut |
GERMANY. World Duty Free Group (WDFG) and Luxottica have opened a new 32sq m Sunglass Hut store at Düsseldorf Airport. The store is located landside in the Departures B area of the Air Berlin terminal.
Luxottica Head of Global Channels Francis Gros said: “This opening is an exciting “˜double first’ for us – the first stand-alone store we have opened in partnership with WDFG and the first Sunglass Hut location in Germany. We are already seeing extremely positive early signs in terms of footfall and sales, and look forward to capitalising on the huge potential for sunglasses at Düsseldorf with our partners WDFG, with whom we won the “˜Best Partnership Initiative’ Frontier Award last year.”
WDFG Global Head of Luxury, Fashion & Accessories Javier Arrevola said: “The Sunglass Hut brand has a strong global presence and we are delighted to work in close partnership with Luxottica to bring it to the German market. We continue to see impressive growth in sunglasses in our own tax and duty free stores and this outlet will bring additional sales and really maximise the category’s potential.”
The new store offers around 500 different SKUs from over 20 leading brands including Ray-Ban, Oakley, Burberry, Bulgari, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani, Persol, Prada, Versace, Vogue, Michael Kors, Gucci, Tom Ford and Carrera.
