WHSmith North America reveals four original concept stores at Orlando International Airport

USA. WHSmith North America, incorporating Marshall Retail Group, has partnered with Orlando International Airport to open four all-new store concepts. Main Streets Market, City Arts Market, The Scoop and Replenish are now trading in the travel hub’s South Terminal.

Main Streets Market (pictured below) – with a design inspired by various neighbourhoods in Orlando – offers travellers a mix of products from local vendors, and also national brands such as Einstein Bros. Bagels.

City Arts Market (pictured below), which WHSmith said replicates the character and “creative feel” of the arts district in Orlando, showcases a wide array of local art displayed as store décor. In a partnership with non-profit venues CityArts Factory and the Downtown Arts District, City Arts Market features products from local artisans and makers.

Providing newspapers, magazines, books and an assortment of convenience products, The Scoop’s design (pictured below) “draws on the black and white world of the printed page”, according to WHSmith.

Finally, created in partnership with Illy Coffee, Replenish (pictured below) is an open-air kiosk serving as a one-stop shop to grab essentials. The design elements at the outlet were chosen to complement Illy’s strong red presence and features natural wood tones, and white and rose gold accents.

WHSmith North America CEO Toby Keir said: “It’s so exciting to see our company continue to expand into new markets, like Orlando. I am always impressed with our team’s commitment to creating unique concepts inspired by each market we enter, and we have really captured the essence of Orlando with these stores.

“We are thankful to our partnership with Greater Orlando Aviation Authority for the opportunity to bring our concepts to MCO, and we look forward to what is ahead as our partnership continues.”

WHSmith’s North American division, incorporating MRG and InMotion, now represents over half of the company’s international store estate, with around 320 specialty retail stores located in airports and resorts across the continent. ✈
