FRANCE. The first bottle of Glenfiddich 50yo to be offered to the public was sold by Aelia at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on Thursday.
A British traveller bought the bottle for €12,000 (duty paid as his journey was intra-European Union).
As reported, Aelia has a two-month global exclusivity on the ultra-premium, limited-edition single malt whisky, which went on sale at Charles de Gaulle on 1 September.

Only 500 bottles of Glenfiddich 50yo will be offered over the next decade, 50 each year.
Of this year’s allocation, 10 are being offered through travel retail. After Paris, from 1 November they will be on display and sale at London Heathrow, Dubai, Shanghai, Beijing and Singapore Changi airports, as well as through Hans Just in Scandinavia.
