INTERNATIONAL. To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March, leading travel retailer Aer Rianta International (ARI) and The Moodie Davitt Report have teamed up for a striking website makeover.
ARI and The Moodie Davitt Report have also launched an empowering social media campaign called ‘Women Rise’, which celebrates the diverse and inspiring women working at the Irish travel retail company (many of whom are depicted in the images on our home page).
The Moodie Davitt Report asked 75 women from ARI to talk about womanhood and compiled their responses in the film below.
The film is being highlighted across the partners’ social media channels and also promoted on the participants’ own channels under the hashtag #WomenRise.
‘Women Rise’ is ARI’s internal women’s campaign. According to the company, the slogan is a declaration of its belief in the power of women to bring positive change. It is an invitation to participate fully and an assurance that all women’s ambitions are recognised by the company.

Women Rise is equally a celebration of ARI’s female colleagues, who help the organisation flourish as a business, not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.
“We are delighted to partner with The Moodie Davitt Report to celebrate the outstanding contributions of women in travel retail this International Women’s Day,” said ARI CEO Ray Hernan.
“At ARI, our celebration of International Women’s Day has grown exponentially over the last number of years, reinforcing our commitment to diversity and inclusion as a core priority to our overall business success. I welcome the opportunity to acknowledge the many achievements of our female colleagues from right across the world today, to celebrate their talents and indeed their future.”
The Moodie Davitt Report Publisher Irene Revilla said: “International Women’s Day is a good reminder of the need to promote an inclusive world (and travel retail industry), where diversity is considered an asset. We are delighted to collaborate with ARI for this very special initiative and to continue to make progress in achieving gender equality.”
The Moodie Davitt Report Co-Owners Martin Moodie and Dermot Davitt said: “The Moodie Davitt Report is excited to partner with ARI for International Women’s Day. Like ARI, our success is very much driven by the women on our team. Each one is an outstanding individual who has helped drive our success to date and to negotiate the challenges of the past year with energy, conviction and grace. We salute their contributions and achievements and those of women throughout our industry worldwide.”
The campaign above reflects the importance of gender equality and empowering women to take leadership positions in business and society. UN Women’s theme for International Women’s Day 2021 is ‘Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world’.
The theme celebrates the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her statement for International Women’s Day, UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka said: “We need women’s representation that reflects all women and girls in all their diversity and abilities, and across all cultural, social, economic and political situations. This is the only way we will get real societal change that incorporates women in decision-making as equals and benefits us all.”
