UK. World Duty Free’s store in London Heathrow Terminal 5 has just been allocated the first presentations of Champagne Piper-Heidsieck’s Le Rituel par Christian Louboutin, which was unveiled at the TFWA World Exhibition last month in Cannes.
A crystal stiletto shoe – designed by French shoemaker Christian Louboutin – is presented in a luxury gift box, with a red shoe pouch and a bottle of Champagne Piper-Heidsieck Brut, which is personalised with the signature of Louboutin himself and dressed with a red foil top.
The limited-edition presentation is available exclusively in World Duty Free from 5 November 2009. In December, distribution is extended to only one high street store in London. Le Rituel can be purchased for £299 in World Duty Free, which represents a saving of £50 against the high street price of £350.

As reported, Le Rituel par Christian Louboutin de Piper-Heidsieck was inspired by the risqué custom from the Belle Époque of drinking Champagne from the shoe of a courtesan. Piper-Heidsieck commissioned the crystal stiletto, which also serves as a Champagne flute.
Christian Louboutin, who is famous for his extravagant creations, graced the shoe with a 14cm heel, and the Champagne is contained in the lower part of the glass.
The opaque black crystal shines like a varnished shoe, while Louboutin’s trademark transparent red sole is designed to infuse the Champagne bubbles with a touch of scarlet.
