Wow Bao continues US East Coast airport expansion at Washington Dulles International

US. Washington Dulles International Airport has become the latest travel location to welcome Wow Bao, the fast-casual Asian concept, to its food & beverage line-up.

The new venue – situated across 894sq ft in Concourse D near Gate 20, with a ten-person seating capacity – has been opened in partnership with affiliate Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, concessionaire Air Ventures and MarketPlace Development.

The new venue at Dulles International Airport is one of three planned US East Coast openings in Q1 2020

Known for its hot Asian steamed buns (named ‘bao’) with sweet and savoury fillings, Wow Bao also offers a variety of rice and noodle bowls, soups and salads.

Chicago-headquartered Wow Bao also announced that this new eatery will be among the first to offer a brand new food option: Breakfast Potstickers. A potsticker is a Chinese wonton dumpling which is fried until brown on one side, then turned and simmered in a small amount of broth.

The new menu item features ‘fluffy’ eggs, pork sausage, spinach, scallions and seasonings in a pan-seared potsticker. The Breakfast Potstickers can be eaten with three sauce options – Sweet Thai Chili, Soy Ginger and Chili Oil.

The newly-launched Wow Bao Breakfast Potstickers are available in five, eight or 12 piece portions

The other main dishes on the Wao Bao menu include Teriyaki Chicken, Spicy Mongolian Beef and Whole Wheat Vegetable Bao, as well as Orange Chicken and Spicy Kung Pao Chicken over Jasmine Rice.

The location also offers a full bar with beer, wine and cocktails.

This latest Wao Bao opening is the second of three planned for US East Coast airports in the first quarter of this year, preceded by one in Terminal 2 of Raleigh-Durham International last month and another to follow in Terminal E at Boston Logan International during March.

Wow Bao President Geoff Alexander said: ““We are thrilled to expand our brand and introduce our signature steamed bao to even more audiences along the East Coast. These openings demonstrate our growth mission across the country to showcase our commitment to providing standout, fast-casual cuisine.”
