CHINA. Baijiu specialist Wuliangye, in partnership with its distributor Zhanxing Company and Shenzhen Duty Free Group, opened a speciality store at Luohu Port on 6 January.
The inauguration was led by Wuliangye Deputy General Manager and Import & Export Company Chairman Chen Chong; Shenzhen Duty Free Group President Zhan Xingzhou; and Zhanxing Development & Trading General Manager Wu Yulin.
Shenzhen Duty Free Group Vice President Chen Guangwen remarked: “Shenzhen Luohu Port is an important hub for opening up to the outside world and a golden channel for domestic and foreign exchanges.
“Since 2005, Wuliangye has been cooperating with Shenzhen Duty Free Group through its Hong Kong distributor Zhanxing Company, with its products covering the whole duty-free channel, including Luohu Port.
“This tripartite cooperation is both a precise grasp of market opportunities and a deep integration based on a common vision of development, which is of far-reaching significance.”
Wuliangye International General Manager Xu Yuhao said: “After nearly 20 years of continuous and in-depth cooperation with Shenzhen Duty Free Group, Wuliangye has achieved many results in product marketing and brand promotion.
“In 2024, the number of entries and exits at Luohu Port exceeded 60 million, and the opening of this exclusive store is a new exploration of market innovation by the three parties.
“It provides consumers with richer choices and broadens Wuliangye’s market space.”
The immersive store combines product display and sales with high-end tasting and cultural elements. Its design reflects the spatial characteristics of the port, featuring a brand culture display area.
On the opening day, Wuliangye introduced several products, including the Year of the Dragon and Year of the Snake zodiac wines, the Yuan Ding Jingsheng series, Panda wine, classic Wuliangye and its seventh-generation release.
Also revealed were several promotions, including a live demonstration where bartenders prepared the Wugu Roni cocktail using Wuliangye’s 40-degree strong-flavour liquor Wugu Song, allowing guests to sample traditional Chinese liquor.
The opening of the Wuliangye’s duty-free store in Luohu Port expands the brand’s presence in travel retail, offering consumers a more accessible purchasing option.
In the future, Wuliangye plans to strengthen channel partnerships and improve service quality to reach more travellers. ✈
