FRANCE. As revealed on The Moodie Report.com 16 June, Yves Saint Laurent Beauté has created a new animation for the travel retail channel, called “Eye Need It”.
As the name suggests, it will focus on the eye segment, in terms of both colour and treatment. Eye Need It follows on from the company’s Lip Partners promotion (The Moodie Report.com, 29 January). A series of such events is planned.
Again, as with Lip Partners, Eye Need It will provide travellers with the opportunity to consult YSL’s specially trained “Colour Experts” (The Moodie Report.com, 10 November 2003), for advice on make-up application.
Eye Need It is described as an innovative shopping event which complements the existing range of YSL’s Travel Selection eye product best-sellers. These include All for Eyes (Touche Eclat, Instant Pur Eau Tonique eye make-up remover and Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils in a portable kit); Eye Look Good (Touche Eclat and Lisse Expert); Duo Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils; and Duo Mascara Longueur Intense.
The recommended price points for these travel retail exclusive sets are €38, €39, €34 and €35, respectively.
YSL has created a striking visual and compact merchandiser as part of the animation. The latter comes complete with a tester and integrated mirror. It can be used alone, or grouped on specific Eye Need It tables and eye product gondolas.
In addition, there will be a glossy brochure displaying the full line of YSL eye products, and advice on how to create the perfect eye make-up look, in all participating travel retail outlets.
Lastly, to celebrate the Eye Need It promotion, YSL has created a gift for travellers. The Intense Eye Pouch is an elegant black make-up bag, stamped with the company logo, with a concealed mirror in the flap.
Inside there is a miniature trio comprising the company’s Intense Lengthening Mascara, Long-Lasting Eye Pencil and Instant Eye Make-up Remover.
In other news, YSL has launched a new Round-The-Colour make-up palette into travel retail worldwide. A limited edition, it contains one concealer, two eye-shadows and two lip colours.
The elegant gold-coloured lid conceals a mirror. The palette also includes an applicator brush.
