Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) has unveiled a new fragrance trio inspired by the east. The Oriental Collection began launching in selected travel retail doors in Europe, the Middle East & Africa on 15 June, and will be rolled out to Kuala Lumpur later this summer.
The upscale line comprises three scents: Majestic Rose, Noble Leather and Supreme Bouquet. The five main components of each juice are listed on the outside of the bottle.
In addition, the flacons feature a new interpretation of the signature YSL Cassandra logo, reworked with fine metallic wisps of carved and gilded latticework, which is echoed on the outer carton. The bottles are topped with a square, shiny, black-lacquer cap.
The Majestic Rose juice was composed by Alberto Morillas. The key ingredients are May rose, saffron oud wood, guaiac wood, vanilla bergamot, papyrus and raspberry.
Noble Leather is a sensual scent, composed around a leather accord mellowed by notes of tobacco and dried fruits. It was created by Julie Massé. Other components include violet leaves, saffron, mandarin, vanilla and woods.
Supreme Bouquet aims to evoke a peaceful getaway in an oriental garden, according to the brand. Composed by Dominique Ropion, the juice is characterised by heady white flowers, atop a woody/amber trail. The top notes include bergamot, pink pepper and pear, building to a heart of tuberose, jasmine, patchouli and ylang.
