ITALY. Milan Malpensa Airport has opened a 700sq m Zara store – the fashion brand’s largest at a European airport.
The shop is located in the airport’s ‘affordable fashion’ Piazza del Pop retail area in Terminal 1.
Airport operator SEA Milano said the store is targeted at Schengen, intercontinental and other long-haul passengers. In mid-2013 SEA removed the division between Schengen and non-Schengen passengers in favour of merging passenger flows in one shopping area. Stores are now grouped into Piazzas featuring an array of brands ranging from luxury through to fast fashion.
SEA Milano said the opening represents another important part of Malpensa’s T1 commercial development strategy. Benetton, Bottega Verde, Bluespirit, Morellato, Bullfrog and Womo will open doors on a phased basis from now through to mid-2017.
