Zippo heritage comes Full Circle with launch of 2015 Collectible of the Year

Zippo has signalled the return of its “˜Collectible of the Year’ series with the launch of the Full Circle lighter, personally selected by Zippo owner George Duke.

The limited-edition commemorative lighter is the latest addition to Zippo’s Collectible of the Year series, which started in 1992 and continued for a decade before returning in 2013 with the Windy lighter.

This new edition was created by Grant, the son of George Duke and fourth-generation member of the Zippo family. It is said to represent “the passing of the flame” within the family.

The design features a repeated spiral pattern carved on an Armor Spectrum lighter. The Armor case is 1.5 times thicker than a standard Zippo windproof lighter case, allowing for deeper and more intricate engraving, according to Zippo.

The collectible comes in a specially designed commemorative box, complete with a two-sided brass card explaining the symbolism of the Full Circle design. The consecutive numbering and bottom stamp authenticate this Zippo Limited Edition.

Only 12,000 pieces have been created. Priced at US$80, the Full Circle lighter is now available both online at Zippo.com and at Zippo retailers.

Zippo will be exhibiting at the upcoming IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas in Orlando (booth 2507).
