Ian Macleod Distillers to showcase travel retail-exclusive expressions at TFWA Asia Pacific

The Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn Edinburgh Gin is ready to hit the TFWA Asia Pacific spotlight

SINGAPORE. Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD) is set to reveal its travel retail-exclusive duo of single malt Scotch whiskies at the upcoming TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition on 12-16 May (Basement 2 2-M01).

The Rosebank Remarkable Casks Collection has been created exclusively for travel retail

The ultra-premium luxury expressions are created by Rosebank Lowland Single Malt Distillery and Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt Distillery.

Another highlight at the IMD stand is the Asia debut of the revamped brand packaging for Edinburgh Gin, which launches in the channel in May, as well as an exciting new full-strength flavour.

The Rosebank Remarkable Casks Collection (ABV 46.8%) is created from a vatting of five hand-selected casks. The 31 Year Old expression is limited to 700 bottles with a recommended retail price of £2,500 (US$3,140). The whisky will be available within select premium travel retail operators.

The Tamdhu 46 Year Old (ABV 46%), an ultra-premium single cask edition, is from Tamdhu’s New Dedication Collection.

The expression comes from Tamdhu’s rarest sherry casks and only 100 bottles will be released worldwide. The liquid is presented in an individually hand-blown, cut-crystal decanter and wood and brushed metal octagonal box and leather case. The 70cl bottle will be available for £16,000 (US$20,000).

Aside from its broad portfolio of whiskies, IMD will also release the refreshed packaging and branding for Edinburgh Gin, the pioneer of naturally flavoured gin, including a new bottle design.

IMD will shine the spotlight on the Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn Edinburgh Gin, now widely available following a period of customer exclusivity.

Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn has been hand-crafted with a blend of traditional gin botanicals, mixed with notes of strawberry and balanced with sweet and spicy pink peppercorns.

The gin was named ‘Best Berry Gin’ at the 2022 Scottish Gin Awards and won a Gold Award at The Spirits Business Travel Retail Masters 2023.

Led by Global Travel Retail Director William Ovens, the IMD team includes highly experienced Hong Kong-based Asia Pacific Travel Retail Regional Director Kelvin Ng.

Ovens said: “Asia Pacific has grown to become a very important region within our travel retail business, under the leadership of Kelvin Ng.

“Our range line-up in GTR is stronger than ever, especially after the inclusion of the three new expressions which we are launching at TFWA this month. We have exciting plans to develop our business within this highly important strategic region, which we look forward to discussing with our partners at the show.” ✈
