UAE. Online sales of the Abu Dhabi Duty Free “˜Big Ticket’ raffle have risen by +80% year-on-year since the recent launch of the retailer’s new-look website.

The raffle offers consumers the chance to win a million UAE Dirhams (US$272,000) for the ticket price of AED500 (US$136). The site also features on-line participation in the retailer’s popular luxury car raffles.

The new site, designed in a modern and contemporary way, carries all the latest information concerning Abu Dhabi Duty Free. This includes details on the special offers and new product arrivals as well as detailed information about the airport facilities available to passengers and visitors alike.

“We believe that a website is an integral part of any business,” said Abu Dhabi Duty Free Managing Director Mohamed Mounib. “It’s not simply an information site, but a productive business tool. Proof of how it reaches consumers can be seen in the results of our online Big Ticket sales. Since the launch of the new site, online sales have shown a significant increase. Throughout 2005, sales have increased by more than +80%,” he said.

The original site was launched in 2002 but since then, dramatic changes have taken place within the business, including the addition of two new temporary airport terminals.

“With business growing rapidly at ADDF, we saw the need to update and revamp our website to include the new business concepts and campaigns,” Mounib concluded.

Visitors to the site can find the latest offerings in duty free and catch up on relevant news such as the major expansion plans which will see Abu Dhabi Duty Free grow into a substantially-sized airport complex over the next four years.
