FRANCE/US. CL World Brands, owner of Hine Cognac, has appointed Alexander James & Co to handle the brand in US duty free.
Alexander James & Co, run by John Alexander, is among the most respected US duty free distributors, specialising in wines and spirits.
CL World Brands is one of the world’s fastest-growing spirits companies. It believes that there is an opportunity for an organisation that concentrates on niche brands with individual strengths.
Having emerged from the investment portfolio of its Trinidadian parent, C L Financial Limited, the group’s main constituents are currently:
• Angostura – rum and Aromatic Bitters producers based in Trinidad
• Burn Stewart – Scotch Whisky producers based in Scotland
• Hine – Cognac producers based in France
CL World Brands also holds an investment in Belvedere SA, a vodka producer based in France, which operates several distilleries in Poland.
