Kiehl’s prepares for travel retail roll-out – 30/10/06

INTERNATIONAL. Kiehl’s (part of the L’Oréal group) is set to expand its presence in the travel retail channel with new openings at Copenhagen Kastrup and Oslo Gardermoen.

As previously revealed by The Moodie Report, the brand made its travel retail debut at Hong Kong International Airport in May earlier this year.

“We are delighted to accelerate the progress of Kiehl’s in the travel retail channel,” L’Oréal Produits de Luxe International Marketing Director in charge of the Development of Exclusive Products, Publicity and Trade Communication Jean-Michel Bostroem told The Moodie Report.

“The next openings will be shop-in-shop executions at Copenhagen and Oslo. More will follow, although in line with the brand’s selective domestic presence, the distribution in travel retail will not be huge.”

Next year will also see the opening of another Shu Uemura shop-in-shop, in Paris Charles de Gaulle’s new terminal S3.

Look out for a more detailed interview with L’Oréal’s Jean-Michel Bostroem, coming soon.
