World view: Butlers Chocolates is on a global mission |
IRELAND. Butlers Chocolates, Ireland’s leading premium chocolate company, has expanded its business by announcing five new duty free listings.
Airport stores that will be carrying the brand are Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Moscow, Amsterdam Schiphol and Sydney.
These new listings have enhanced the firm’s global presence. In December 2009, it broke into the Asian market by opening a Butlers Chocolates Café in Karachi.
Chairman Mairead Sorensen said: “These new listings are a really exciting addition to our international portfolio. Developing our exports has been a key part of our business over the last few years and we hope to continue to introduce Butlers Chocolates to new markets and fly the flag for Irish business abroad.
“Research in Ireland this month revealed that despite the downturn people are not willing to comprise on indulgence food like chocolate and this seems to be the case worldwide.”
Butlers Chocolates achieved recognition in travel retail by winning Best Supplier of The Year at the Frontier Awards during the 2009 TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.
Butlers Chocolates Premium Collection was also a finalist at the awards and will be included in all five new listings achieved this year.
