UK. Leading brand Rotary Watches is poised to launch a major collection of travel-related pieces in its 115th anniversary year.
Rotary Evolution
To celebrate the new decade and the brand’s international expansion, Rotary is launching the Evolution range of statement watches that offer travel-related functionality. The capsule collection is the result of three years of design and development.
TZ1 is a family of chronograph watches in three colourways: stainless steel, PVD rose gold and PVD yellow gold. Remaining true to the essence of the Evolution brand, each dial has striking red dial accents. The chronograph movement allows fractions of time to be measured and is therefore aimed at those choosing a more sports-inspired piece.
Series TZ2 represents the most innovative of the models and includes the patented and award-winning round and rectangular rotating case strap watches, dubbed the Rotary Revelation.
Individually powered by two separate movements, the timepieces allow the wearer to retain two separate times and achieve two distinctive looks in one watch. The concurrent theme is “day” and “night” as each watch has a contrasting dark dial on one side and a light dial on the other.
Although the majority of the models in this series have been designed to appeal to men, two mid-size Austrian crystal set, round models have been launched in stainless steel with black croco leather strap and PVD rose gold with brown croco leather straps for women.
The TZ3 is described as the “hero” of the collection. Consisting of a cluster of trio-timer models, each of the watches features a futuristic grid-effect dial that includes two separately-powered mini dials resulting in an ability to maintain three separate times. Crafted in stainless steel, PVD rose gold and black ion plating, these design-led watches are finished with a ribbed rubber strap and deployment clasp.
The Rotary Evolution brand, set to be introduced in September/October 2010, carries the company’s lifetime guarantee and waterproof standard.
Rotary Les Originales – The Super 25 collection
Since its launch in 2009, Rotary Les Originales has cemented its position as a collection of refined dress watches. The collection takes its inspiration from vintage styling and offers the wearer designs with a contemporary twist.
Originally launched as a capsule collection, the range has been expanded to include slim-line strap and bracelet watches along with chronograph strap and bracelet pieces that have a unisex appeal. The success of these early launches has led to an introduction of a new hero piece that will be available for a reduced time.
Originally created in the 1950s, the re-launched Super 25 series is characterised by its simplicity and the addition of a hinged case back to reveal the intricate automatic movement. The curvature of the domed dial and the intricate stamping detail are carefully matched with the vintage index markers. The automatic strap watches are available in two plating options.
For those that favour white metal pieces, there are two stainless steel models, both featuring a black leather croco strap. The first piece has a silver stamped dial with contrasting yellow gold arrow-tipped indexes. Its sister piece has the same case colouring but has a black stamped dial with rose gold indexes.
One further model has been created in PVD rose gold. The application of rose gold indexes onto a contrasting stamped silver dial allow the third piece in the new series to acquire a more formal appeal.
Each of the new models is presented in a black presentation box and is limited to 1,895 pieces each, to mark the 115th anniversary of Rotary Watches. They benefit from the company’s lifetime movement guarantee and waterproof standard.
