RUSSIA. Russian Standard Vodka bottles will hereon feature a special label certifying their 100% Russian origin and adherence to traditional vodka production methods recognised by the Russian Federation government.
The official Certificate of Origin stamp was introduced to help consumers distinguish genuine Russian vodka from the many pretenders to Russia’s national drink, the brand said. Awarded by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks, the certificate is the result of careful analysis of Russian Standard’s production process.
“We are proud to display our Certificate of Origin as a guarantee of Russian Standard’s quality and provenance,” said Russian Standard Vodka Founder and President Roustam Tariko.
“In today’s world, consumers value authenticity and origin highly in their choice of brands. Just as superb French and Italian products are awarded “˜Appellation d’origine contrôlée’ and “˜Denominazione di Origine Controllata’, or a Cuban cigar holds the coveted “˜Habanos DOP’, Russia, the homeland of vodka, also must guarantee its national drink. Our Certification of Origin will help vodka lovers distinguish Russian Standard from the many vodka brands that pretend to be Russian, but are not.”

The Certificate of Origin is being applied to current production at the company’s distillery in St Petersburg. Bottles bearing the stamp will roll out on shelves over the next two to four months.
The certificate bears the unique number awarded to Russian Standard by the government of the Russian Federation, marking the brand’s status as genuine Russian vodka.
The crest is the official city emblem of St Petersburg, the capital of Imperial Russia and the home of the creation of the standard for Russian vodka, by scientist Dmitri Mendeleev. The double headed Imperial eagle, the symbol of the Russian Federation, represents the government recognition of the certification.
