The app enables mobile phone users to get travel information and details about airport facilities and activities |
NETHERLANDS. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has expanded its passenger services with the launch of a free Schiphol mobile app. This service is offered in collaboration with M2Mobi.
The new application enables iPhone and Android mobile phone users to obtain detailed travel information, including flight information, via “˜push notification’ and details about airport facilities and activities.
The app will soon allow users to book Schiphol Smart Parking spaces as well.
In future passengers will be able to request customised travel information, including traffic and public transport updates. These are already in development and are expected to become available in the first quarter of 2011. From that date the application will also be available in English.
The Schiphol App can be downloaded free of charge at popular App stores or at the airport itself using Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s new free WiFi network.
Other SmartPhone users can visit Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s new mobile website www.Schiphol.mobi for more information.
“This new passenger and visitor service contributes directly to our ambition of Europe’s preferred airport. Moreover it reaffirms Schiphol’s reputation as an innovative and trendsetting airport, where serving customers is a top priority,” said Schiphol Group Consumers Business Area Managing Director Otto Ambagtsheer.
